  4. A Wedding, A Morgue, and Offbeat Bride

    image

Our friend, Tiinia, was married last year on Friday the 13th at the haunted house grounds where she and her husband work (and where many of their friends work,) 13th Street Morgue.

We met Tiinia at a local holiday arts and crafts show held by our local Etsy team, Etsy 817. We held a fashion show, featuring different sellers’ work, and Tiinia, who is a fantastic makeup artist, did the models’ makeup. She stopped by our booth after some of my mom’s fascinators and my jewelry were featured in the show, and bought one of my bracelets to wear for her wedding. As we met to make sure the bracelet fit, she discovered my mom’s closets of vintage clothing and lingerie to borrow for upcoming photo shoots, then asked her to make all of the headpieces/fascinators for the wedding, then the boutonnieres, and finally asked me to embroider her vintage handkerchief. Through all that, we all became friends, and we were invited to the wedding!

I knew as soon as the wedding started that it should be featured on OffbeatBride.com. It was the perfect mixture of creepy and beautiful, and all of the guests were encouraged to dress in costume. Sure enough, several months later, I saw the OBB link on Facebook:

Click on any of the photos in the post to visit the photographer’s page and see more photos! You’ll see the bracelet, handkerchief, fascinators, fans and boutonnieres, and you can even spot me (in my vintage blue and green pant suit) behind the bride, doing the Time Warp. :)
